Root-Cause Analysis of Electrical Fires
Electrical fire analysis is the examination of electrical anomalies found in the wiring, fuse boxes, circuit breakers, and electronic devices remaining at a fire scene. Arc and Short-Circuit Examination (Arc Mapping)
Microscopic melting beads on wires and connection points are analyzed to determine, with high precision, whether the fault occurred before the fire (causing it) or during the fire.
Thermal and Overload Analysis
Traces of loose connections, undersized cable cross-sections, and heat buildup from overloading (ohmic heating) in the wiring are examined through metallurgical laboratory tests and microscopic inspection.
Protective Devices and Equipment Examination
The position of fuses, residual-current devices (RCDs), and circuit breakers at the time of the fire — and whether they tripped and performed their function — is reported using technical autopsy methods.
