Earthquake Risk Analysis & Report
Comprehensive building risk analysis combining structural data, soil parameters, and seismic simulations for official regulatory compliance.
Holistic Earthquake Risk Analysis and Safety Matrix
Earthquake risk analysis is an advanced engineering study that goes beyond measuring concrete quality alone — combining a building's architectural irregularities (short columns, soft stories, mass eccentricity, etc.), its distance from active fault lines, and soil-structure interaction into a single, holistic mathematical model. Our expert team plots your existing building's fragility curves against seismic shaking, conclusively determining whether it threatens life safety in light of legal and technical norms.
Seismic Assessment and Risk Determination Methodology
The analytical steps we apply to verify a building's seismic performance and produce a report compliant with legal regulations are as follows:
Regional Seismicity and Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) Analysis
The building's geographic coordinates are entered into Turkey's Earthquake Hazard Map system. The maximum possible earthquake magnitudes producible by active fault lines in the region and the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) values reaching the building's foundation are calculated as analysis inputs.
Risky Building Determination under Law No. 6306 (RBDR)
For urban-transformation incentives, legal exemptions, or administrative/judicial proceedings, a 'Risky Building Determination Report' is prepared in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. This process brings the building under official legal protection or clears the way for its renewal.
Non-Linear Structural Performance Analysis
Artificial earthquake loads are applied to the building's 3D computer model to perform a 'Pushover Analysis.' By calculating the ductility capacity of columns and beams and inter-story drift, the building's performance level — Immediate Occupancy (IO), Life Safety (LS), or Collapse Prevention (CP) — is precisely determined.
Why Have a Comprehensive Earthquake Risk Analysis Performed?
Having an earthquake risk analysis performed is not merely a disaster-preparedness measure — it is a shield protecting responsibility and assets for property owners, companies, and legal parties alike. In urban-transformation disputes among co-owners, occupational safety (OHS) audits of corporate companies, or risk feasibility assessments of commercial real-estate investments, holding a risk report that is fully compliant with legal regulations (TBDY) and valid before courts and official institutions absolutely prevents loss of rights and administrative sanctions.
"In short: earthquake risk analysis is a simulation, written today, of how a building will respond to its future seismic test. A risk report backed by scientific data removes uncertainty and safeguards both lives and investments."
